Memory....all alone in the moonlight

The title is from the musical "Cats" for all of you who didn't know and just think I'm weird. Which, coincidentaly, I am.....

My dad just shared some really cool memories with me. When he was 22 he and his friends took a road trip through Africa (He lived in England at that time). One of his friends from the trip sent him a CD of the tape which they listened to on the trip, and he was listining to it and I asked what it was. I said "that must bring back alot of memories" and when he answered yes I looked up and there were tears in his eyes. Now, my dad is a fairly emotional person and it's not like he was bawling, he just got teary eyed, but still it made an impression on me. To have had such a great time that the music from the trip makes you wistful enough to cry, is a really priceless thing. Then he told me all about his trip, and the part I thought was really cool was when he had to go ahead of his group to meet some friends in Johannesburg and hitchhiked, by himself, 3,000 miles from Nairobi, Kenya to get there. How cool is that? Totaly random people let him catch rides with them until their route was different than his, and then he would just get picked up by another car and keep going. He said at the beginning of the trip they picked up a hitch hiker who became a member of their group and traveled through Africa with them. He also told me that he used to hitchhike around England all the time. He'd just stick out his thumb and someone would stop, ask where he was going, and take him there if they were going that way too. If I did that here and now someone would probably think it was another finger and run me over.....

One thing I am sure I want to do when I grow up is travel. I love being in new places, eating different foods, I even love flying. In your twenties is the perfect time to do all that traveling because you don't have a family to support or any real need for money, no real worries or cares yet, just enjoying life..... Thats the way I want it before I get into a real job (I have no idea what that will be). (my dad also said it hardly cost him any money, all he was buying was food) I want to go to every continent, as many countries as possible....all over the world. I also want to visit every state in the U.S. My dad's story about his trip inspired me even more, and I want to go now! Hehe..... who wants to come with me??

When nature calls.....

This will be quick because I really have to pee.... *_* Today we had sports awards night and orchestra/band rehersal for graduation. There were three things scheduled for the NWHS auditorium tonight: our rehersal, awards night, and Kingsview's concert. Mr.O actualy reserved the auditorium last year but some how it god triple booked, and Kingsview ended up using it while sports night was in the cafereia and we stuffed ourselves into the band room for rehersal. I saw 15 minutes of awards night for track (where Ms. Muehl summerised the season) and then had to leave for orchestra. So I missed the awards, but apparantly I lettered, which was a complete (but happy) suprise to me.

In orchestra Mr. O was getting really frusterated and he told us we were like his bird. Mr. O tells his bird, "Bird, don't poop on the floor" and then the next time the bird is out of his cage, he poops on the floor. He says we are just like that when he tells us to play quietly. It was so funny and Mary and I were in tears laughing...whee I love orchestra.......

I was jsut realizing the other day that this year has gone so fast! I will miss it, I actualy like high school! But going to England and France this summer will make up for it. Mr. Smith gave us a big lecture today about using your time wisely. He was telling us how fast your life can go and how you could be dead tommorow. It was depressing but inspiring, and I went around and asked all my teachers for my grades. I'm such a geek (def. #2).....wheeep! *_*

Yoda, I am

I have not updated in a long time. Heh, I was talking to Mary about how I haven't updated and I said "Bad girl" and on the next line "am I" and she was like "hehe yoda" because he always talks backwards like that. Its funny because he's saying something serious but he says it backwards so you just end up laughing... He also has a flying dish... haha

I dont know what else to say today except I want ice cream and...

15 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh...track is over....sigh.... What do I do with myself now? Running with the distance runners was fun, but hard! I have a new respect for distance runners. We ran about three miles which isn't too bad, but we ran them FAST. Nancy and I were struggling to keep up, but we did it! Go us! Yesterday, as Mary stated in her blog, was awards night. Before that Katie and I went down to the neighborhood where Ryan, Seva, Mary, and her sister Becky live and hung out there for a while which was bunches of fun. We didn't have alot of time because Mary and I had to go to the awards thing. We'll have to go down (up?) there more often, especialy since Ryan isn't allowed on the internet anymore.

This past week we haven't had to come to school until 11:15 unless have an HSA test. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I got lots of sleep, and then this morning was the Geometry HSA which was awful. I am absolutely terrible at timed math tests. I need time to ponder.... I didn't finish the first half and the second half I finished except for the problems I couldn't get. It was so frusterating at the end.....I was actualy mad. Tommorow is English, which will be alot of writing but atleast you don't have to know stuff. And it will be FRIDAY! Before a THREE DAY WEEKEND!!! On Sunday I have an Irish Dance competition (aka Feis, pronounced Fesh) and on Monday theres a whole bunch of people coming to our house to celebrate my dad becoming a citizen. So that will all be well and good..... Only 18 school days until summer vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been updating....Mary and Ryan (update please!! *_*) haven't either so it's not like I'm the only one ......My life has been kind of meh lately... not much going on. Track is over except for practice with the people going to states which me and Nancy are going to do. It should be interesting because only distance people are going to states, so they are doing distance runs. We're gonna see how we do....5+ miles every day is alot. Oh, I did go to the movies with Seva, Rebecca, Emily, Katie W., D.J., Kyle, and Vova who we didn't invite but just kind of appeared there with D.J. It was fun, we saw Star Wars Episode II. It was good but I didn't get half of it because I haven't seen Episode I. We were gonna see Spiderman, but Star Wars wasn't sold out so we said what the heck, lets go. See if i knew how to put pictures in this I would show you some......Oh well I'll learn one day soon.

I haven't been online since Sunday! How crazy is that? And of course it's because of my busy schedule. Lets see....... what did I do? umm....I don't even remember...I know I went to track every day but thats a given..... I did homework....Oh, well yesterday was the regional track meet and I did the 100 hurdles! I love the hurdles...... It was good I guess...I reached my goal of 4 stepping the first 5 hurdles. I don't know if i PRed because I don't know my PR for that race....pretty sad.... Oh well, it was fun.

I can't decide if I'm hungry. My body and mind are so confused because I don't have track. When do I eat? How much do I eat? What do I eat? Hmmm.....I think I want an apple and some honey mustard pretzels...

ORCHESTRA CONCERT TONIGHT! YAY! And the symphonic band is going to play too. HORRAY! In Orchestra class today someone asked what time the concert would end and he told them 11:30. He looked so serious and people were like 'Are you kidding?' Finaly after he kept a straight face on it for like 5 minutes he was like 'no....of course not....' Then he did the same thing when I asked him if the band was coming back on stage to play the last song with us (which was a pretty stupid question). He said 'No I think they'll play from their seats in the audience.' I felt stupid *_*

Anyway.......Good luck to band and orchestra people! Or should I just say good luck to all because band and orchestra people are the only ones who read this.....

I don't have track today! Horray! Emily's party was really fun! It was me, Emily, Rebecca, Katie W., Rhea (who none of you know...atleast.....you shouldn't know her...), Seva, and DJ. The guys left around midnight, but DJ's dad locked himself out of his car. He had to call AAA and they didn't get there until like 1:30. We wathced "A Knight's Tale" which was good. If I can figure out how and find one, I'll give you a picture to enjoy....

Well I found a picture but i dont know how to put it in here. Help me Mary!

What kind of egg are you?

I haven't touched the computer for 4 days....its some kind of record. I've just had way too much to do. The JV county meet was yesterday (here we go..another track story..) and I was happy with it overall. The 100 hurdles sucked because I stuttered to the first hurdle and I got 20.5 which is maybe a second and a half slower than usual which is not too good... My 300 hurdles could have been alot stronger too, I came in at maybe 28.5 (27.5?) which is average for me. But then I was in the 4 by 400 relay and I cut 7 seconds off my 400 time! Go me! My old PR was 78 and I got 71! I am so very proud.....and our team came in 4th which means we get a ribbon. Yay!

Hmm what else has been happening? So much I can't keep track.... Today was the induction ceremony for the people being inducted into the National Honor Society and the orchestra played. It was fun and it wasn't long which was good. So I got back at like 8 and this is the most time i've had to myself for a week! So now I will go to bed because I have so much to do this weekend it's not even funny. Here's a preview since I probably won't be updating...

On Friday is my friend's birthday and it starts at 6 and its a sleepover, so we leave at around 12 the next day. Then I have 3 hours and I have to go to track practice, which will definately be intervals. After that I babysit from 6 to 11. Hopefully I won't fall asleep.... that would not be good thing. The next day is mother's day and I'll be in Virginia at my aunt's house with the rest of my mom's side of the family. Then I come back to school and regionals are on wednesday.... sigh....
But I think it will be a fun weekend, I'll update if I can!

arg.... whats wrong with my page its alll white and jumblied...
I am so busy its not even funny......or is it? Anyway yesterday I went to my brother's middle school play "Friday Knight Fever". It was interesting........ I don't recommend it but shhhh don't tell my brother *_* I went with Halley because her brother is in it too. It was basicaly a whole bunch of 12 year olds making up lines on stage. And it was 7 dollars! Godspell was so much better and it was only like $4. Middle schools dont have auditoriums so their stage is in the cafeteria and at the beginning it sounds funny because the guy was like " Please don't eat or drink in the cafeteria" He could have just said please don't eat or drink while the play is in session or something and it would have sounded alot better. It was funny though. Once they were all walking off the stage in a group and there was all this noise and you hear this one kid say "Oops! My mikes on!" It was pretty funny but you had to be there... After intermission we were walking back to our seats and the lady infront of us was painting her nails! She just pulled a bottle of nail polish out of her purse and started painting them! Halley and I were laughing so hard! She probably heard us, but she just kept on painting... Now thats boredom..... And I missed walking around Kentlands with Mary and Bryan and Sharoo for that rip-off. You might be saying "walking around Kentlands? Fun?" But just walking around places is the best fun ever! You should try it some day.....
