I'm also really tired, a procrastinator, and only have one paragraph of my bioethics done :D

What color do you see the world in? brought to you by Quizilla
Woohoo for happy! Except right now I am not happy because I am trying to do my bioethics essay. It's interesting and all, but I hate doing things at the last minute when I'm so pressed for time. Ok.. I'm really going to start.....hopefully....

For those who haven't heard, the president has just given Sadam Husein and his sons 48 hours to leave Iraq before we "take military action". In other words, we are going to war within the next two days. In his speech, he seemed to mostly be talking in circles. What really killed me was that he kept referring to the U.S. as a "peaceful nation" and emphasizing that we are "persuing peace". I don't know many people who would define peace as bombing the heck out of a country. He also told the Iraqi citizens that we were directing the attack at the men in their government, and not the citizens themselves. I don't know how we're going to do that... bombs don't tend to know which is the person you are targeting and which are the innocent civilians.
I want to know more about the whole shananagans about Sadam supporting terrorists. According to the NPR commentary after Bush's speech, there was never any evidence that he would supply terrorists with weapons. And about the whole disarming thing... why would he give up his weapons if he knew Bush was going to attack no matter what? If you knew someone was going to attack you no matter what, would you give up your defense? I by no means support Sudam Husein, but I also don't support war. Didn't this start out as a war on terrorism? Speaking of terrorism...Code orange is back as the security level of the country. I'm pretty scared, I think that if terrorists are going to attack they would do it within the next 48 hours because they have nothing to loose. They will want get the first strike, and since a deadline has been set.... aaahhgg it's so frusterating how we just have to sit here and wait to see what happens...I just feel so helpless. Some people think that if we go to war, we will go in, take out Sadam, and leave. It's not that simple, nothing ever is. Many things can go wrong. We are not immortal.
Besides the fact that it is now pretty certain that we are going to war, today was pretty good. We are watching a movie in biology; in AP Government we didn't have to take the quiz (on the only reading I haven't done) because we got tie to prepare during morning announcements and 1st period didn't; in health we had a guest speaker; in English we peer edited eachother's papers; track was easy and we didn't get punished for not using blocks on Saturday; and we're playing Lord of the Rings music in Orchestra! The only thing wrong with today was that I have this weird bubble filled with fluid in my gum behind my molar, and we're going to war.
I have to do my homework, but I will leave you with these inspiring words from Viggo:
"At our best we, like the Fellowship, realize individually and collectivelt that peaceful coexistance can be acheived only through vigilance and concious compassion. Compassion for oneself and others, especaill for those determined to do us harm. An effort made to identify eith others and understand them in order to understand ourselves. To understand that there is no absolute difference between us. That is not to say that we ought to allow ourselves to be trampled, eliminated and individuals, races or nations...The right to choose how we coexist is ours unless we willingly surrender it. There can be no quick fix, no easy or permanent answer to the troubles of today or tommorow. A sword is a sword, nothing more. Hope, compassion and wisdom born of experience are, for Middle Earth as for our world, the mightiest weapons at hand."
-Viggo Mortensen, taken from his introduction to
The Visual Companion to The Two Towers
He is so...so..so..so...smart...

My previous post was Elijah free! Aren't you proud of me? But I had to post this picture:
Woo-hoo! Look at him go!
Poo... It doesn't work. I'll leave it there, just in case it decides to work one day. You'll just have to look at this one....
I think taking pictures of yourself was the activity of the day at that event, because I found alot of pictures of them taking pictures of themselves. Maybe I'll post them later, I still have homework to finish right now.
BAAAAAAAAH I had such a long post! It was so long! And I tried to post it and what did it say? Error... And I couldn't get it back. Baaaahhhhhh
Oh well.. here's the abbreviated version, since I don't feel like typing all that over again:
* Festivals (ensemble and whole orchestra) were lots of fun! We got ones, woo-hoo! Orchestra is the best!
* Track scrimage yesterday. I ran the 100, 200, 400, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. It was fun but I got sunburned.
* Rebecca, Katie, Emily and Kyle visited me on their biking expidition. Rebecca got skapped in the head with a towel by my brother. Emily went crazy over the English money. She kept saying "It's been there! Orlando might have touched it!" Katie got annoyed and said, "You know who else might have touched it? .....HITLER!!" Hahahahah that was really funny.. Thomas laughed for a rediculously long amount of time.
* I had a dance show for a Saint Patrick's day party. It went well.
* After the show my mom and I joined my brother at a St. Patrick's Day party held my someone my dad works with that we go to every year. I ate lots of food and had fun.
* I think food is my incentive for most things. I like going to my-dad's-work people's parties (commonly known as NIST nerds :D) because there is food. I like going to awards night because there is cake afterwards. I love food. I love indian food. I had indian food four times this past week. I love lebanese food. They invented hummus, and therefore, they are my heroes.
* I have sooooo much homework:
-Rough draft for an English essay (not started)
-Intro paragraph of bioethics paper (research not started)
-AP government reading (not started)
-English worksheets (not started)
-Math assignment in book (almost finished on the way to the show)
-Spanish worksheet (started)
-Research for AP semester paper (not started)
Judging by that list.. I should get started. Bah.. stupid blogger.. I wasted all that homework doing time on writing a long post.. and now I don't have anything to show for it.

I actually have time for online!!! Well, right now I have to go to bed, but there are still a whole... two... days ahead of me until I go back to that school stuff. Right now I only have time for this:
Interviewer (Steve Zahn, who he worked with when filming "Chain of Fools"): So where are you right now?
EW: I'm at home in California. Actually, I just left New York yesterday. I was there for four days.
SZ: Did you go downtown and have a look at Ground Zero?
EW: I did. It definitely puts things into perspective. The mood in New York is incredible--the unity of the people, it's astounding.
SZ: It's so true.
EW: I think it's the most important thing to come out of what's happened. You know, it's crazy: I actually flew out of New York that same Tuesday morning. My plane took off at about 8:45, which was pretty much the time everything happened. Someone on board said they actually saw smoke coming out of one of the buildings.
AHHHH!! That's so scary! What if it had been his plane? There would be no Lord of the Rings as we know it.. there would be no Elijah... The idea is too horrible for words....

One thing about enjoying life... is that you don't enjoy homework.... and you do the other things that you enjoy instead of your homework. I just can't bring myself to work ahead. When I'm done with the day's work, I'm done. This could prove to be a problem as I have been assigned a policy paper for my AP government semester paper. I should finish *ahem* Oh, fine....
start my research, but there are just so many other things I'd rather be doing. Maybe once I start it will be easier, but I just can't take that first baby step.
On Saturday I said I would tell you about my weekend, which I haven't done yet....So here it is!
Thursday: I did all my homework because I wasn't sure if there was going to be school.
Friday: NO SCHOOL! *_* I practiced my irish dancing, and then went to Mary's. I went to her cookie sale at Blockbuster which was cold but fun. I got to meet Heidi who is really cool and also a big fan of hobbits :D We finished Fushigi Yuugi (Woo-hoo!) which was really good and watched Elijah/hobbit/Lord of the Rings interviews. "Rock on! We're Hobbits!" :D Yay! It was so much fun!
Saturday: I had to leave Mary's early because I had to take the stupid practice SAT, which turned out to be exactly the same as last years. >< Urg.... I'll probably get a worse score on it because I was tired and fed up. After that I went to see Chicago with Rebecca and it was so cool! I love musicals, and this one was great!
Sunday: I did homework and went over to my little neighbor's house for his birthday-cake-eating time. Mmmmm I ate so much cake!!
Sorry, I don't have much time to elaborate. Track started today and I am tired!

Awww.. the side covers one of the pictures. Oh well, when I post alot, it will move down and reveal the picture. Motivation for posting!!! Haha, I doubt I will have much time after track starts. We are ending at 6 every day because we are having a study hall before it starts. That could be good if I can get work done, because there will be no lure of the computer. Hopefully I will be able to concentrate. I am sorry to say that I have run out of palindromes. I will have to think of something else to title my posts with.
Sorry, all non-Elijah fans.. It's just that these are some of my favorite pictures of him, and I found the URL. I promise I'll give you something to read some day.... Right now I have to go to bed

Congratulations to Mary and Bowen for getting ones at festival!!! That's so cool; you guys are great and you proved it!!
I'm so annoyed at my laziness. I have all this homework for the weekend and instead of getting it out of the way on Thursday, I only did the things that were due Friday (just in case there was school) and leave the rest for Sunday. Just one Friday I would like to be able to resist the magnatism that is the computer/Lord of the Rings/hobbit/Elijah and finish all of my assignements. But then there's this thing called AP government in which we have a semester paper assigned... and so I could always be working on that. I think that it's the daunting presence of the amount of work I have to do which causes me to put it off and put it off...and put it off. One way track is good for me (besides the running/exercise/strengthening/fun factor) is that I don't have time to even think about being sucked into the computer. So I guess, even though this hobbity time off is nice, I am looking forward to outdoor.... track has become a habit that I didn't know I had; it gives my life a forced structure.
Well, this was going to be a post without Elijah ranting.. but I can't bring myself to do it.... *_*
Waaaaaaa :D he's the coolest ever!
"You can look into Elijah's eyes and you can see right down to his heart." -Peter Jackson
I have had so much fun this weekend so far! I will write about it tommorow, I want to go to bed now because I'm pretty tired.
